Ukraine take on Northern Ireland in a Group C match of the ongoing UEFA European Championships at the Stade de Lyon in the French city of Lyon on Thursday while Germany face Poland in another Group C encounter at 9 p.m. CET (3 p.m. ET) at the Stade de France, Saint Denis.

Ukraine started their campaign on a disappointing note in the Euro 2016 with a 2-0 loss against dominant Germany at Stade Peirre Mauroy, Lille Metropole on Sunday.

German coach Joachim Low, however, acknowledged it was a hard fought win. "It was not too easy against a strong defence, and their counterattacks were very dangerous, but we found a solution to that in the second half and that's why I'm quite satisfied with the game and the result," he said.

Northern Ireland also lost their Euro 2016 opener against Poland on Sunday at the Stade de Nice. Arkadiusz Milik's 51-minute strike powered Poland to 1-0 win in a closely contested Group C clash. "It's a disappointing evening. We have to braver on the ball but it's a real learning curve for us. We always knew it would be difficult but we weren't good enough," Northern Ireland skipper Steven Davis told BBC Sports.
