La Liga powerhouse team Real Madrid have scheduled to meet with the agent of Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba even as the France international is still competing in the ongoing Euro 2016 tournament.

The said development is expected to hold back the interest of Premier League side Manchester United, who are rumored to be targeting Pogba and Real's Toni Kroos this summer as new manager Jose Mourinho look to improve the Red Devils' spine in preparation for the next season.

Caught Offside indicated that Los Blancos "will be the first to make a genuine attempt at reaching an agreement" with the 23-year-old Juve star as club will meet with his agent, Mino Raiola, on Tuesday.

However, the "biggest stumbling block" to the negotiations will be the Pogba's wage demand, which is said to be between €12 million to €13 million per season, as the Bernabéu giants are allegedly only willing to offer €8 million a year excluding the bonuses.

Of course, there are still no guarantees where the 6-foot-3 Lagny-sur-Marne, France native will go next season as he will have all summer to decide whether he wants to stay in Turin or move to England or Spain as Real's arch-enemy, FC Barcelona, is also said to be keen on signing him.

Meanwhile, 90min particularly reported that Raiola is demanding a €250,000 (£200,000) per week compensation for his agent, but Madrid only offered €170,300 (£135,000).

The report also noted that Mourinho and United could have the upper hand when it comes to providing Pogba his wage demand as the team is prepared to do whatever it takes to "compete for the Premier League title again" next season.

Nonetheless, Pogba is said to be preferring to still compete in the Champions League in 2016-2017 and only Real and Juve are qualified in the said competitions.

Pogba, who just finished his fourth season with the Italian Serie A champions, started his senior career with the Red Devils in 2011 as he came from United's youth academy as well. He scored 10 goals in 178 games in all competitions for the Old Lady in the recent term and has become one of the most in-demand players this summer.
