It appears that Amber Heard is not really asking for spousal support from estranged husband, Johnny Depp. According to TMZ, Heard's lawyer issued a statement Monday, insisting that she only sought financial backing because she believed that was the usual procedure during divorce cases.

Heard filed for divorce in May, only 15 months after her wedding to Depp. A temporary domestic violence restraining order was also issued against Depp upon her request after she accused the actor of abusing her while they were married.
A judge will decide this Friday of whether or not to extend Heard's temporary restraining order against her ex.
Heard is reportedly not happy about how the financial aspect of the divorce is being dealt with in the media. In a statement, Heard said her demand for spousal support was being "used against me to distract and divert the public away from the very serious real issue of domestic violence."
According to court documents, Heard stated that the court could have actually ordered Depp to give her $1 million in temporary monthly support, given that the actor earned about $30 million in 2015.
Nevertheless, Heard is not totally withdrawing her request for spousal support. She will deal with it later after the court decides about the temporary restraining order.
The couple's divorce saga has become more heated after Heard's representatives asked for police help, accusing Depp's staff of breaking court orders and raiding the ex-couple's home.
A court order barred the Pirates of the Caribbean star from getting at least 100 yards near from the Downtown Los Angeles home that he and Heard once stayed together.
Depp's representatives were quick to defend the action, stating that they entered the residence to remove property and furniture which they insist belongs to the actor.
