A total of 50 people died during the mass shooting at Pulse in Orlando City on Sunday, June 12. The horrific incident also left 53 wounded.
The shooter Omar Mateen was armed with an assault rifle. He was eventually killed by a SWAT team inside Pulse, a premiere gay club. Police said they have no regrets about storming the club, PBS added.

During the attack, Mateen reportedly pledged loyalty to the Islamic State when he called 911. ISIS praised Mateen's act of violence, calling him a soldier of the caliphate.
FBI Director James Comey said that there are various reason that Mateen may have acted on his own instead of having a terrorist agenda.
Homophobic Tendencies
While Comey admitted that there are strong indications of radicalizations and potential inspiration by a foreign terrorist organization, there is no evidence that the attack was directed by foreign terrorist organizations.
While Mateen's father has painted a good picture of his son, Mateen's ex-wife said he was abusive, mentally unstable and full of hate. She suggested that Mateen was likely gay.
Many have speculated that Mateen may have been dealing with his inner demons, of trying to get rid of his anger towards homosexuality, Boston Globe reported. He is reported to have been using gay dating apps.
Multiple reports claim that Omar Mateen was a familiar face in the club, according to patrons.
The FBI is still looking into these insights and is still trying to determine the shooter's motive.
