Anticipation builds up as the Shanghai Disneyland Resort opens its doors to the public on Thursday, June 16.
Bob Iger, Disney Chairman and CEO, visited Good Morning America where he teased the upcoming resort, which will make history as the first Disney Park in mainland China.

"What people have been able to accomplish here is well beyond what I ever imagined possible," Iger said.
The property, which offers a theme park, shopping complex and two themed hotels, can accommodate as many as 100,000 guests every day.
It is located in Shanghai's Pudong District, and is spread across 963 acres of land. To put things in perspective, the Shanghai Disneyland Resort is approximately the same area as 1,000 football fields and eight 18-hole golf courses.
Shanghai Shendi Group, Disney's partner in the effort, estimated that they will be welcoming around 10 million guests every year. Things are looking promising for the new attraction as the tickets to its opening day were sold out within a matter of hours after they were put up for sale.
It is also projected to provide 10,000 jobs in China. The economic impact of the resort was reportedly so significant that President Xi Jinping met with Disney CEO Bob Iger last month.
Last Tuesday, the Shanghai Disneyland Resort gave a sneak peek of what it has to offer with the premiere of the first Mandarin-language production of The Lion King. The show was one of the events scheduled ahead of Thursday's grand opening.
Among those in attendance were Bob Iger, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, former NBA player Yao Ming and Lion King original stage musical director Julie Taymor. Several other Chinese and foreign celebrities were also spotted at the event.
The show featured content similar to the original Broadway production as well as several "distinctly Chinese elements, including a Peking Opera musical number and shadow puppet lions and giraffes."
