A Walmart employee took his manager and fellow employees as hostages on Tuesday before being shot and killed by police in Amarillo, Texas, according to News Channel 10.

Investigations by the Amarillo Police Department (APD) reveal that Moghaddam rushed into the store at 11 a.m. before firing one gunshot to the roof.
He forced the store's unnamed manager into the office at the back where another employee was also caught up and held as a hostage.
The police were quick to respond to the incident. Personnel from APD, Department of Public Safety, and the Randall County Sheriff's Office among others closed the surrounding I-27 and Georgia Street from motorists.
A SWAT team came to the rescue and rushed to the Walmart store in the afternoon to find one of the hostages unharmed near the office. The team then proceeded to the office to find Moghaddam and the manager inside.
Two SWAT officers shot Moghaddam, who is believed to have died immediately.
The hostages, meanwhile, survived the incident unharmed.
As per protocol, the SWAT officers were placed on administrative leave. An investigation into the incident is still being conducted.
