Halo Wars 2 will continue the story where the original Halo Wars left off, with Captain James Cutter and Sergeant John Forge lost in space.
After many years of being lost and drifting, the crew of UNSC Spirit of Fire is surprisingly alerted by an old Forerunner called the Ark.
In Halo Wars 2, Captain Cutter along with his crew will face a fatal threat to the humankind, The Banished.
It is composed of the brutal group called Brute that is led by a dangerous warrior named Atriox.
Halo Wars 2's E3 2016 Trailer
Microsoft revealed a very stunning CGI trailer of Halo Wars 2 at E3 2016. The trailer featured well-detailed in-game graphics with invaluable cinematic artistry by Blur Studios.
Halo franchise director Frank O'Connor explained that Halo Wars 2's trailer aimed to summarize the sequel's whole narrative and gameplay.
"It's about what happens when you have two generals from two very different species with very different stuff facing off against each other," O'Connor told Game Spot.
"The CG is trying to tell the story of the control and the strategy that you use on the battlefield. It does express what's actually going to go on albeit in a metaphorical way," he said.
Halo Wars 2 is expected to be released in 2017.
