While saying he didn't plan to run for president in 2016, Milt Romney on Sunday couldn't resist one presidential jibe: He said he would do a better job than presumed Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.

In an interview with "Fox News Sunday," Romney, the former Massachusetts governor and 2012 Republican presidential nominee, said he didn't doubt he would be a lot better than Clinton at being president.

Clinton, who was once a former first lady, senator and secretary of state, has yet to confirm if she will be running, but polls put her in the lead for the Democratic nomination if she decides to run.

Romney told reporters he would understand if the Americans would disagree with him, but the American people need to have an understanding that everything needs to be done to improve the economy.

"You need people who understand what it takes to create jobs and to help people come out of poverty, to help the middle class to have a better and prosperous future," Romney said.

Romney added that Clinton did not have enough experience in managing people to do a good job as president.

Taking on the presidency would require people who have had prior experience in public service, according to Romney, adding that the United States, being the largest enterprise in the world, required a leader who had a broad knowledge of proper personnel management.

Romney likened Clinton to the foreign policy of U.S. President Barack Obama which is a "disaster."

"Obama and Clinton are like two peas in a pod," Romney said. "The Americans already had a taste of what it's like and said, look, we don't like that taste. It does not suit the Americans."

Meanwhile, Romney confirmed that he will not be running in the coming 2016 elections, but vowed to help whoever will represent the Republican party
