Tech giant Asus officially unveiled its latest device - the ZenPad Z8 tablet - with Verizon in the United States. The device is currently priced at $249.99 and is now available for pre-order via Verizon Wireless online. It is listed to start shipping from June 23.  

Verizon Wireless will also offer this latest device with a two-year contract, starting at a price of $149.99.

During the launch of the new Zenpad Z8, Asus executive Benson Lin, said that the company is very excited to unveil the device with Verizon Wireless. Lin promises that Verizon customers will have a device that offers top-end specifications and a very attractive price tag.

In terms of the specifications, ZenPad Z8 features a massive 7.9-inch IPD display capable of projecting 2K (2048 x 1536 pixels) screen resolution. The display on the ZenPad Z8 tablet will offer a 178-degree viewing angle, according to Asus.

ZenPad Z8 is powered by a 1.4GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. It will come with built-in 16GB internal memory storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. It runs on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) operating system out of the box, along with ZenUI.

The tablet is packed with a 4680mAh capacity battery inside and features dual front-facing stereo speakers that offers DTS-HD sound. The tablet sports an 8-megapixel main camera and also houses a 2-megapixel front camera for selfies.

Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, GPS, Glonass, Bluetooth 4.1, 4G Network connectivity, and USB Type-C port.
