Belgium will face Sweden in Wednesday's other group E encounter that begins at same time in Stade de Nice.
Italy advanced to next round of the European Championships after beating Sweden 1-0 on Friday.
"Many were even doubting us going through and the fact we're into the last 16 after just two games is a huge satisfaction," Italy's coach Antonio Conte said after Sweden win.
"I'm pleased for these lads because they deserve a lot and hope these wins gain us more confidence because we started with the wheels deflated and now we're trying to pump these wheels up with every game," He said.
Ireland, on the other hand, must beat Italy in their final group stage game at Stade Peirre Mauroy to have any possibility of progress in the tournament.
