The Chinese women's national volleyball squad continued their winning stretch, as they swept aside world No. 3 Brazil with an impressive 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-20) victory and kept their 6-0 record unscathed in the ongoing 24th edition of the FIVB World Grand Prix Pool D1 at the Macau Forum on Sunday.

Fangxu Yang registered a team-high 12 points and Ting Zhu added 10 points for the 2003 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix champions. Fernanda Rodrigues finished the match with 11 points for the Brazilians.
China, which won all the three matches in Ningbo, defeated Belgium (3-0) and Serbia (3-2) before sweeping the back-to-back Olympic gold medal winning team of Brazil to finish at the top of the group stage and remain unbeaten. Brazil, which ended up in third place next to Serbia, suffered their 11th loss in their World Grand Prix head-to-head matchup against the Asian giants.
With the victory, the Lang Ping-led volleyball side are all alone in the No.1 spot of the 12-team Group 1, winning all the six matches played and garnering 17 points. Power houses Russia and the United States right behind China.
Russia has dominated Pool F1 in Bari, Italy, sweeping The Netherlands (3-0), Thailand (3-0), and winning over the host Italy (3-2). The Russians are also still undefeated, with six victories but only with 16 points. The United States has registered five wins and secured 15 points.
The annual women's international volleyball event is the final and the most salient tournament for China before the 2016 Rio Olympics kick off in August. The Chinese spikers finished fourth in last year's tournament.
China is currently ranked No. 2 in the world by the FIVB, only after the United States. The decorated national team has appeared in eight Summer Olympics and triumphantly brought glory to their country by bagging gold medals in Los Angeles (1984) and Athens (2004).
