In Asia, there are certain trends that have been making investors a lot of money and when it comes to hotel investments, this is no exception. In a recent survey completed by Burba & Hayes, it was revealed that hotel investment trends are on the rise throughout Southeast Asia.

Japan was the leader of the pack while India is showing to be on a steady rise to the top of hotel investment and a growing tourist industry.

Nearly two-thirds of all respondents in the survey believed that India will be one of the top hotel investment locations in Southeast Asia by January 2015 which is a substantial increase from the same forecast that was published in 2013.

Despite the struggling hotel investment forecast that has plagued India for the past several years, according to Vijay Thacker of Horwath HTL-India, "Business confidence and sentiment in India has change very positively, with a forward looking and stable government voted into power in May 2014."

"A single party majority for the first time since 1989 spares the nation from the restrictive travails of coalition governments. Business fundamentals and need for cross-border and private sector investment remain strong, and revival of investment interest is already evident," he said.

Although news is looking up for India, respondents believed that business and investment would slow down for China in January 2015.

However, for Southeast Asia, overall confidence that hotel investment opportunities in the region will increase, according to 93 percent of all respondents.

Although news for the Chinese hotel industry may be grim for now, there is still evidence showing that the amount of investment in China will gradually increase along with investments in other countries.

Korea, Japan, India, Australia/New Zealand are expected to attract from 84 percent to 67 percent of hotel investment in the coming year.
