Basketball News: USA to Face China in a Friendly at the Staples Center on July 24

(Photo : gettyimages.com) The Chinese men's national basketball team will visit the United States to play two friendly games against Team USA.

The USA Men's National Basketball Team will be facing 2015 FIBA Asia Champion China at the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles on July 24 for a series of tune-up games. The friendlies come ahead of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in August.

In addition, the star-studded USA squad will be playing four other internal exhibition matches and conducting basketball training camps in Houston, Chicago, Oakland, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas.

Prior to their game against the Asian champions, the American's National Team will open the 2016 USA Basketball Showcase on July 22 against Argentina at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The South Americans are currently No. 4 in the FIBA world rankings.

The seventeen-time FIBA World Cup champs will play host to two separate exhibition games versus China. The first friendly game will be at the Staples Center on the 24th of July. The second game will be staged at Oracle Arena in Oakland on July 26.

USA will continue its exhibition tour in Chicago and will face Venezuela, winner of the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship, at the United Center on July 29.The world No. 1 basketball team will conclude the USA Basketball Showcase on August 1 when they play the 2015 FIBA Africa zone champion, Nigeria, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Hall of Fame coach Mike Krzyzewski returned to the USA National Team bench. The 69-year-old veteran head coach has compiled an impressive 75-1 record. The highly decorated mentor will be assisted by Jim Boeheim of Syracuse University, Tom Thibodeau of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and Monty Williams of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
