(Photo : Reuters) The measure has been taken as a response to the Taiwanese government’s failure to affirm the “One-China” principle.
A video showing a corporate motivational coach spanking low-performing employees at the Changzhi Rural Commercial Bank in China has surfaced online, resulting in backlash from the viewers.
According to USA Today, a Facebook post said that the eight employees were being spanked in front of an audience, as they were not excelling in their jobs. The incident was seemingly recorded by one of the audience members, and it showed the trainer, identified as Jiang Yang, spanking the people in line and asking them, "Why are you ranked the lowest today?"

Yang was walking back and forth behind a row of the bank employees on stage and spanking their backsides with a paddle. One of the employees was seen in the video jumping forward and trying to cover herself, obviously in pain. The employees were said to be four females and four males.
In addition to the spanking, Yang later cut the female employees' hair short and shaved the male employees' heads. Two bank executives have now been suspended - a deputy governor and the manager of the branch where the incident occurred. Yang is being asked to apologize.
The people in the video could receive a financial compensation for the beating and humiliation.
The incident reportedly took place at a training session for more than 200 employees in northern China on June 18. Yang said in a statement to BBC that he has been using spanking as a training model for years now.
The identities of the people involved have not been released, and officials are still investigating the matter.
