The remains of the missing Tennessee nursing student Holly Bobo were found in Decatur County on Sunday morning. The confirmation regarding this matter was released on Monday by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).
Decatur County Sheriff Keith Byrd confirmed on Monday that the human skull discovered in a wooded spot off County Corner Road located in Holladay, Tennessee was Holly Bobo's. Reports indicate that the two farmers who found the remains were looking for ginseng when they made the shocking discovery. The area where the human skull was found is located off a log road, which has been grown over. This condition posed difficulty to anyone planning to access the area by car.

In describing how the human skull was found, Byrd told News 2 that it was "partially buried in leaves, but you could see enough of it to tell that it was indeed a human skull". In addition, the sheriff related that "there wasn't anything there but bone". Upon discovery, officials from TBI collected the remains and submitted it in their crime lab in Memphis. After testing and analysis, the TBI released its announcement confirming that the human skull was that of Holly Bobo. No additional information was provided by investigators with respect to the process undertaken to positively identify the remains as Bobo's.
Prior to this confirmation, authorities have already speculated that the human skull might be that of the missing nurse's as it was found roughly 15 miles from the house of Zachary Adams, one of the two suspects arrested and charged in Bobo's abduction and subsequent murder.
On April 13, 2011, Bobo was reported missing from her house in Parsons, Tennessee. Details regarding her disappearance continued to baffle investigators until early 2014 when Adams and Jason Autry were finally arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping and first degree murder. In June, two brothers named Mark and Jeffrey Pearcy were charged as accessories to the crimes.
District Attorney General Mark Stowe shared that Bobo's family will be submitting their official statement on Wednesday.
