Struggling clubs Shijiazhuang Ever Bright FC (3-5-5, 14 points) and Yanbian Funde FC (3-7-4, 13 points) are set to face one another on Sunday, June 26 at the Yutong International Sports Center as the 2016 Chinese Super League reaches its mid-season mark.

Shijiazhuang Ever Bright is presently at the 10th spot on the 16-team China first division table, four points above the bottom two relegation zone. The team is also 15 points away from the third and final AFC Champions League berth currently held by Jiangsu Suning FC.

Last Sunday, head coach Yasen Petrov's boys pulled off a tough 1-0 win over Henan Jianye FC at their home ground in Yutong to snap a six-game winless slide, according to Soccerway.

Portuguese winger Ruben Micael scored the lone goal of the game in the 35th minute from a pass by fellow import, Zambian striker Jacob Mulenga.

Meanwhile, last season's China League One champions, Yanbian Funde, was able to hold league defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao FC to a 1-1 draw at their home ground of Yanji Nationwide Fitness Centre Stadium last Saturday, CCTV English reported.

In what was viewed as a champion-vs-champion match, Yanbian had played impressively, scoring the opening goal at the 18th minute courtesy of Gambian winger Bubacarr Trawally with the assist coming from South Korean striker Ha Tae-goon.

The Southern China Tigers looked like they were heading for a stunning upset loss as they were not able to find the equalizing goal until the 88th minute, with a strike from local midfielder Yu Hanchao off a pass by Brazilian import Ricardo Goulart. The goal saved the reigning five-time CSL champs from what would have been only their second loss of the season.

Playing at home and carrying the momentum of their win over a contending team like Henan, Ever Bright is favored to prevail in another nip-and-tuck affair against Yanbian.

The predicted result is another 1-0 victory for Shijiazhuang Ever Bright.
