Basketball News: Former NBA Player Manny Harris Bags the NBL Player of the Week Award

Former NBA player Manny Harris of Anhui Wenyi had a spectacular game, earning Asia-Basket.com NBL Player of the Week honors in the last round of the professional minor basketball league of China.

The 26-year-old American professional basketball player scored 50 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. Harris led his team to a 124-115 win against the league's ninth-placed Luoyang Zhonghe.

The former Michigan Wolverine standout has turned out to be Anhui's top player in his first season with the ballclub. The 6-foot-5 native of Detroit shot a remarkable 58.1 percent from two-point range in their latest game.

The Anhui Wenyi currently sit in second place in the league's team standings, with a record of 10-2. The team is just two games behind Shaanxi Xinda, which remains unbeaten in 12 outings.

According to Asia-Basket report, Harris is the NBL's second-best in scoring, with an average of 38.7 points per game.  He placed first in the league in steals, registering 4.3 steals per contest.

He has also averaged 10.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game, shooting 57.4 percent from the field.

The second best performer in the league's last round was 31-year-old Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha of the fifth-ranked Jiangsu Hualan. Efevberha, who played for the Sichuan Blue Whales in the CBA from 2013 to 2015, impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 49 points and 11 assists in his teams 121-105 victory against Beijing Sport.

Efevberha, the 2009 New Zealand NBL Most Outstanding Guard, ranks fourth in scoring, with 32.8 points per game. He is ninth in the Chinese league with 4.3 dimes per contest.
