Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said Monday that Beijing wants to see a single and stable European Union and a stable and prosperous United Kingdom.
"We want to see a single, stable European Union, and we also want to see a stable and prosperous UK. In the context of globalization, no country can remove itself from the world economy and talk only about its own development, so it is necessary to move forward hand in hand," Li said at the opening ceremony of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum, also known as the Summer Davos, in Tianjin.

The Chinese leader, however, admitted that Brexit will severely affect international financial markets and will add uncertainty to the global economy. He also called for joint efforts to restore global economic confidence following Brexit.
"Last week's referendum has had an obvious impact on international financial markets. We are seeing increasing uncertainties in the world economy. Under such circumstances, we need to jointly handle challenges, strengthen confidence and create a stable international environment," he said. "It is impossible for us to talk about our own development with no regard for the international economic environment. Therefore we need to work together to make progress through joint efforts."
Li further stated that China will continue to promote entrepreneurship and innovation to foster new economic growth. He said China's major targets for economic and social development set for 2016 could be achieved.
The 10th meeting of Summer Davos themed the 'Fourth Industrial Revolution and its Transformational Impact,' will conclude on June 28. Businesspeople and policymakers from more than 90 countries are participating in the meeting.
