Along with the memory fix, OnePlus confirmed that it is also rolling out major changes to its Oxygen OS. The Chinese company said that on top of its priority is the update to fix its flagship device's memory management to allow more apps to run at the same time.

When the OnePlus 3 was launched, its build.prop value was set at 20, it was increased to 32 with the new update. This will allow the device to better manage the massive 6GB of RAM that it supports.

One aspect of the OnePlus 3 that was criticized by many critics is the device's subpar display performance. To fix this issue, OnePlus rolled out a new sRGB option which can be activated in the Developer options of the device. The new update will allow the smartphone to render more natural colors.

OnePlus said that the new update would be rolled out first to developers and media outlets. The company added that the update would be soon rolled out to the general public, although it did not confirm when.

When the OnePlus 3 was released, it was well received by the tech community for its unique blend of premium hardware and software specs at an extremely low price point. In a market crowded by thousands of premium smartphone devices from top notch manufacturers, the OnePlus 3 managed to come on top of the rest by simply being affordable without sacrificing specs and performance.
