As part of the celebration for the 2016 Euro Championship, Chinese smartphone manufacturer UMi is releasing a new model of its UMi Super flagship device. The aptly named UMi Super EURO2016 Edition was recently launched as a Kickstarter campaign.

Based on the promotional poster provided by UMi, the UMi Super EURO2016 Edition will sport a vibrant Royal Blue color with the EURO2016 logo printed on the lower back of the smartphone. Aside from its façade, UMi did not make any hardware or software improvements. Although this is still early - and dependent on how its crowdfunding campaign will go - UMi might opt in to have a handful of upgrades to make the Limited Edition model unique from the rest.

UMi is also making some major design changes for the smartphone's box. This is to make sure that the box also matches the changes made on the smartphone. There are rumors that the flag of the winning team in this year's Euro Championship will be added on the back of the smartphone, although UMi has yet to confirm this.

The UMi Super made waves in the tech community following its release. Widely regarded as a "flagship killer," the smartphone has an octa-core Helio P10 processer from MediaTek clocked at 2GHz and a dual-core Mali-T860 MP2 graphics processing unit clocked at 700MHz. The flagship UMi smartphone also has 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM.

Storage space is limited to a single variant of 32GB, although it is expandable up to 256GB via the device's microSD slot. The UMi Super sports a 5.5-inch display with Full HD resolution. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

The UMi Super has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera that is widely praised by critics for its impressive low-light feature. At the back, just below the camera sensor, is the phone's fingerprint scanner. At the bottom of the smartphone is a single USB Type-C port for charging and transferring data. Powering the device is an impressive 4,000mAh battery pack.
