Reeling contender Tianjin Teda FC (5-4-6, 21 points) is set to face surging squad Chongqing Lifan FC (3-6-6, 15 points) at the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium on Sunday, July 3 as the 2016 Chinese Super League enters the second half of the season.

Tianjin Teda dropped to the seventh spot of the current league table after going on a three-game winless slump. The team also had won only twice in their last seven assignments, which is a bit of a concern for manager Dragan Okuka.

The Tianjin Tigers was able to hold powerhouse team Shanghai SIPG FC to a 1-1 draw at the Shanghai Stadium last Saturday to snap a two-game losing skid, as per Soccerway.

Ivorian forward Jean Evrard Kouassi opened the scoring for the hosts at the 39th minute of the match off an assist by midfielder Cai Huikang.

Tianjin looked headed to a third straight defeat as full times closed in, but local winger Hui Jiakang found the back of Yan Junling's net with 11 minutes left in regulation to salvage the draw and a share of a point in the overall standings.

Meanwhile, Chongqing Lifan nipped struggling club Shandong Luneng Taishan FC, 2-1, at their home ground of Chongqing Olympic Sports Center last Friday to hand the visitors their ninth consecutive winless game, China.org reported.

Brazilian striker Fernandinho broke the game's deadlock right at the ninth minutes to give Chongqing the early lead in the match.

Both teams went scoreless after that until Taishan Dui forward Yang Xu scored at the 78th to level the game at 1-1.

Chongqing winger Wang Dong netted one in injury time to steal the victory and the three points from Shandong as manager Chang Woe-ryong's men won for the second time in their last three outings. They are now at the 12th spot of the league table, just three points above the bottom two relegation area.

The predicted result is a close 1-0 win for Tianjin Teda.
