Football Transfer News: Brazil’s Hulk Joins Shanghai SIPG of the Chinese Super League

Brazil international football player Hulk has joined the Shanghai SIPG of the Chinese Super League after a four-year spell with the professional Russian football club Zenit Saint Petersburg.
Givanildo Vieira de Sousa, also known as Hulk, signed up with the zealous SIPG after a flashy European career, where he scored an impressive 164 goals in eight seasons for the Primeira Liga club FC Porto and Zenit of the Russian Premier League.

The 29-year-old native of Campina, Grande joins the Shanghai-based football side led by Sven-Goran Eriksson as the club chases its first AFC Champions League crown.
The 46-cap Hulk's broad list of honors and awards includes a UEFA Europa League winner's medal with Porto in the year 2011, as well as three Portuguese Primeira Liga championship titles, a Russian league crown, and a FIFA Confederations Cup won in the year 2013 with Brazil.
The Brazilian football star is no stranger to Asian football. Hulk has spent three years of his playing career with Kawasaki Frontale, Consadole Sapporo, and Tokyo Verdy in Japan, netting in over 70 goals before moving to Porto in the year 2008.
Shanghai SIPG currently hold the fourth spot in the 16-club Chinese Super League team standings. They have six wins, six draws, and three losses.
They will face the Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors of the South Korea at home in the first leg of their AFC Champions League last eight tie on August 23, before the return fixture on September 13.
