According to the National Meteorological Center (NMC) and the Ministry of Water Resources, residents in the areas considered high risks need to take necessary precautions.
The areas identified by the authorities as high risks include parts of Tibet, Guizhou, Hunan, and Anhui as heavy rain is expected to continue to pounce on these areas from Friday evening to Saturday evening.
Authorities also renewed its orange alert in parts of Guizhou, Hunan, Hubei, Jiangsu, and Anhui, where precipitation is expected to reach up to 180 millimeters in some places.
The orange alert is the second highest of the four-tier warning system for storms. Red is the most serious of all the alerts, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
For the month of June, heavy rain hit several regions in China, resulting to the death of at least 30 people.
On June 30, a powerful tornado and hailstorm hit Yancheng City in Jiangsu Province on killing at least 99 people.
Last Friday, at least 11 people were killed when landslide hit a village in Bijie City, Guizhou Province. At least 30 were still missing as of this posting.
In Hubei Province, heavy downpour resulted to floods that collapsed houses, bridges, dikes and roads, and damaged farmland. Some 400,000 people were evacuated from their homes.
Authorities said residents in high risks areas and those prone to landslide and flooding need to relocate or take the necessary measures.
The NMC suggested people reduce outdoor activity and take precautions against possible floods and landslides.
