Coolpad's virtual reality 1x headset, which has been billed as the cheapest VR headset for smartphones, was launched last week in India with a price tag of Rs 999 ($14). It is available exclusively on Amazon.

Coolpad's headset can work with any smartphone, but the display should be between 4.7 and 5.7 inches, and the device should have a gyroscope installed. The VR headset is highly compatible with the following smartphones: Note 3 Lite, Note 3, Note 3 Plus, and Max. It features customizable lenses to adjust the focal length and object distance to be comfortable for long durations. It also has 95 to 100-degree wide viewing angles.

The Chief Executive Officer of Coolpad India Sayed Tajuddin noted that the device was made for the youth. He revealed that the company is going to release more accessories such as smartwatch and power bank.

Users have to slide in the smartphone in the slot of the VR headset. The strap will steady the Coolpad headset when the user's head is moving.

Coolpad recently launched a gold variant of the Note 3 Lite. The device is also available exclusively on Amazon with the price of Rs. 7499 ($111).

The Note 3 Lite was launched on January 15 about four months after the Note 3 was launched in October 2015 for the price of Rs. 6999 ($104). The Note 3 Plus was launched back in May with the price of Rs. 8999 ($133), just one month after the Coolpad Max was launched in April with a price tag of Rs. 24,999 ($372).
