Reeling squad Guangzhou R&F FC (5-7-4, 19 points) snapped its three-game winless slide after pulling off a high-scoring 4-2 win over fellow struggling team Shijiazhuang Ever Bright FC (3-7-5, 14 points) at the Yuexiushan Stadium last Saturday.
Newcomer striker Eran Zahavi stood out in his debut game for the Blue Lions as he scored one goal and assisted on two others to help head coach Dragan Stojkovic's boys finally earn a win in the China top flight after registering only one victory in their previous seven outings, Xinhuanet reported.

The Israeli footballer was signed by Guangzhou R&F on June 29 from Maccabi Tel Aviv for an undisclosed transfer fee. Just two days later, he was fielded in as a substitute in this match at the 60th minute to perform his heroics.
Brazilian attacking midfielder Renato Ribeiro Calixto, or simply Renatinho, scored the opening goal of the contest at the 39th minute for Guangzhou with an impressive individual goal against Shijiazhuang goalkeeper Guan Zhen, as per Soccerway.
Ever Bright's French forward Jean-Philippe Mendy, also a CSL newcomer, was able to level the match eight minutes into the second half. He was acquired by head coach Yasen Petrov's side late last month as well.
The game had been close since Mendy's equalizer, but as soon as Zahavi stepped in at the hour mark of the game, things began to get better for the Blue Lions.
The former Maccabi Tel Aviv captain scored his first goal in the CSL for Guangzhou at the 76th minute with a header off an assist from midfielder Tang Miao, putting his team up by one, 2-1. He then shot a brilliant cross from the left flank toward defender Zeng Chao, who managed to slot in Zahavi's assist, making the score 3-1 with six minutes left before regulation time ends.
Zahavi helped seal the win with another assist, this time for Guangzhou team captain Zhang Yaokun right at the stroke of full time to complete their four-goal haul.
Shijiazhuang managed to score a consolation goal in stoppage time courtesy of defender Jiang Jihong.
