The Cubot X16 S has not performed as expected on the market. While the device comes with some pretty impressive specs, it has failed to impress critics and users. Now, to boost its marketability, the company has announced that Cubot X16 S will be on sale until July 15 for $119.99.
According to its official website, the Cubot X16 S' new price tag is $119.99, a major drop from its original retail price of $139.99.

At its current discounted price, the Cubot X16 S is an interesting choice for users who are looking to try the Android platform at a relatively low price. The X16 S has a quad-core MT56735A processor from MediaTek clocked at 1.3GHz. It has 3GB of memory and 16GB of storage space which can be further expanded for up to 128GB via a microSD card.
The Cubot X16 S supports dual SIM, albeit in a rather unconventional way. It uses a hybrid slot which means that users can either chose to use two SIM cards or one SIM and one microSD, according to Giz China.
Other hardware specs of the Cubot X16 S include a 5-inch 2.5D display that supports HD resolution. It also has a 15-megapixel rear facing camera with autofocus technology, and a 5-megapixel front facing camera for selfie shots.
The device comes with a 2700mAh battery pack and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box. The MediaTek chipset supports 4G LTE connectivity.
The discount on the device will run from July 5 to July 15. After that, the Cubot X16 S will revert to its original price of $139.99.
