The National Basketball Association's (NBA) Los Angeles Lakers are close to adding European coach Igor Kokoskov to their coaching staff.
The Serbian Kokoskov, who became a U.S. citizen in 2010, is currently an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, he has already had an extensive coaching past in the NBA.

He became the youngest ever coach in Yugoslavian basketball coaching history. He was a player first, but an accident quickly changed all that and transformed him into the coach he is now.
In 1999, he was hired by the University of Missouri as an assistance coach. He then got into the NBA in the coaching staff of several teams, namely: the Los Angeles Clippers, the Detroit Pistons, the Phoenix Suns, and the Cavaliers.
He is also currently the Head Coach for the Georgia National Team, leading them to the qualification stage for EuroBasket 2015.
Kokoskov has 14 years of basketball coaching on his resumé, and even a championship to boost: he was part of the coaching staff of the Pistons when they won the NBA championship in the 2003-2004 season.
While the two sides have not reached an experience, Scott says that he is close to bringing him to Los Angeles.
Last July, the Lakers found a new head coach, when NBA veteran player and coach Byron Scott signed a multi-year contract to be head coach.
Earlier on, he was the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers when Lebron James was still there. However, when James left, the Cavaliers did not do so well and Scott was fired.
A year after, he became a studio analyst for the Lakers broadcasts. With Mike D'Antoni resigning, Scott was pegged as the number one pick to help rebuild the Lakers.
