China-Mongolia relations are expected to further improve, as the two countries committed to pursue regional connectivity as a means of stimulating trade and attracting investment in their areas.
According to Zhi Luxun, deputy director of the Department of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Commerce, the Mongolian government's investment, trade, infrastructure and tourism initiatives are all geared towards achieving regional connectivity and integration, reported the China Daily.

Mongolia is a landlocked country with a very small population, expansive territory and rich natural resources.
The country's top exports include minerals and agriculture products, which are shipped to China and other major export markets.
In an effort to boost China-Mongolia relations, in general, and to increase the latter's exports, in particular, the Chinese government has not only allowed Mongolia to utilize the Tianjin Port, but to also set up an office in the city.
"We think Dalian is another port that will probably become open to Mongolia," noted Khaliunbat Myagmarjav, executive director of the Silk Road Foundation, a Mongolian civil economic organization.
Mongolia is likewise taking the necessary steps to ensure the success of its economic partnership with China, as the leadership of the Mongolia Autonomous Region has submitted a proposal to the Central government to transform itself into a free-trade zone anchored on cross-border trade.
"The two countries are highly complementary in economic structure and enjoy a huge potential for economic and trade cooperation," pointed out Luo Renjian, a researcher at the Institute of Transportation Research under the National Development and Reform Commission.
The commission is among the agencies tasked to enhance and promote China-Mongolia relations.
According to Luo, Mongolia understands the value of better rail connections and enhanced port services, which are expected to have a meaningful impact on the nation, both economically and politically.
Meanwhile, Wang Lihua, director of the publicity department of Erenhot of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, highlighted the country's huge demand for China-made products, which underscored the need to strengthen China-Mongolia relations.
