Apple showed-off the upcoming multiplayer online battle arena game, Vainglory, at Apple's launch event.
Its intent was to demonstrate the graphical capabilities and prowess of the new iPhone 6 and its graphics API for iOS 8 called Metal.
Developed by San Mateo-based studio Super Evil Megacorp for iOS, Vainglory is a forthcoming MOBA game reminiscent of League of Legends and Dota 2. Even if it's the studio's first game, the developers behind the MOBA designed specifically for touchscreens.

The studio consists of industry veterans led by CEO Kristian Segerstrale, a former head of digital at Electronic Arts and founder of Playfish. Along with Bo Daly, formerly of Rockstar and Gazillion, Super Evil Megacorp is made-up of developers from Blizzard, Insomniac Games, Riot Games and more.
Vainglory is an "unapologetically core" game designed specifically for mobile devices, according to the developers. The matches in Vainglory pit three players against three. Each player uses his own mobile device to play matches that can last up to 20 minutes.
At Apple's highly anticipated launch event, the developer demonstrated some new particle and lighting effects for Vainglory that runs at higher resolution with an iPhone 6.
According to a blog update on the developer's site, Vainglory can deliver and provide a high level of graphics performance and resolution beyond that of a Blu Ray player with a new HDTV, which is the highest quality that any console game played on a mobile device.
Like other MOBA games, Vainglory is free to play. Players can unlock content that will customize their gameplay experience.
Super Evil Megacorp reassures players it won't restrict players with timers, pay-gates or any other mechanics that might hinder their ability to play.
Vainglory is now in its early access testing stage.
Thedeveloper plans to distribute the game in Southeast Asia, New Zealand and Australia in October and the rest of the world by December.
