While a handful of tech companies in the western hemisphere have already delved into the smartwatch business, the same cannot be said for their Chinese counterparts who are still struggling to create a smartwatch that would have a significant impact on the market. SMA-R is looking to address this with its new Dual smartwatch.

According to Giz China, the SMA-R Dual smartwatch has a MediaTek MT2502 system-on-chip. It has round watch face, which makes it look more like a traditional watch rather than a highly advanced gadget. The Dual has a 1.3-inch display that supports 240 x 240 resolution.

Among its set of sensors are heart rate monitoring sensor, sleep monitor, activity tracker, sedentary reminder, and gesture music control. It is also IP54 complaint, which means that the smartwatch is waterproof, according to Gear Best. It has a 300mAh battery pack which should be powerful enough to power the smartwatch for two to three days or up to five days when on standby.

The SMA-R Dual has a changeable user interface. There are six available interface designs that users can choose from. The smartwatch also supports gesture control. A simple shake of the wrist will prompt the smartwatch to switch to the next page. Shaking the wrist twice will answer an incoming call and lifting the wrist will prompt the smartwatch to be activated.

The SMA-R Dual supports both Android and iOS platforms. It supports Android 4.4 or newer versions and iOS 8.0 or newer versions. The smartwatch can be synced with smartphones via Bluetooth and can give out notifications for Gmail, WhatsApp, Twitter, and Facebook, among others.
