All five starters of the Phoenix Mercury scored double digits as they demolished Chicago Sky 97-68 in Game 2 of the WNBA Finals at the US Airways Center in Arizona on Tuesday night.

Phoenix jumped into the lead in the first quarter as DeWanna Bonner and Brittney Griner led Mercury to a 21-14.

Mercury center Griner continued the assault in the second quarter with the help of guard Diana Taurasi and forward Candice Dupree as they extended their lead 51-36 at the end of the first half of play.

Sky guards Elena Delle Donne and Epiphanny Prince made a valiant effort in keeping the score within striking distance in the third quarter but the formidable front line of Mercury was more than a match as Phoenix further their lead to 23-points at the end of the third quarter.

The Sky guards tried to make a rally again in the fourth quarter but they can't do it alone as Mercury finished the game with a 27-point win and a chance to take home the crown in Game 3 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont.

Griner led Mercury with 19 points, Taurasi 18, Bonner 15, Penny Taylor 14 and rounding up the five-woman starting team Candice Dupree with 10 points.

Delle Donne led Sky with 22 points while Prince contributed 15 points for the losing team.

"We have to stop the bleeding a lot faster and we can't make as many mental mistakes because they make you pay for them," Delle Donne said after the game. "We have a lot of things to clean up."

Mercury is now 2-0 against the Sky and one win away to grab their third WNBA crown since 2009.

"You can't do that against any team, let alone the best team in the league in the finals," Sky coach Pokey Chatman said. "We never gave ourselves a chance."
