Hong Kong actor Raymond Lam is said to have been absent from the celebratory dinner party of his coming drama 'Virtuous Queen of Han' without any explanations last Tuesday. Rumor has it that the actor was not pleased that the media attention was on his co-star Niki Chow.

Actress Niki Chow, who will be playing the lead role in the historical drama, and her boyfriend Jeremy Tsui made a joint appearance during the event along with their other co-stars, but the glaring fact that Raymond Lam, who also stars in the drama, was not there also caught the media's attention.

Raymond Lam didn't say anything about not showing up until the organizers and guests only found out about it during the event. The actor allegedly did not offer any kind of explanation regarding his absence despite being included in the list of attendees.

The crew and production team has claimed that it was the first time the actor would not show up at a function without any prior explanation as to why he was not going to make an appearance. However, the director and producer of the drama stated that they will be looking into the matter and will find out why Raymond Lam suddenly chose to pull a no-show.

According to sources, the former TVB actor has promised to be at the event should his schedule allow it and even stated that he will be staying until the end of the dinner.

Based on previous reports, Raymond Lam and his co-star Niki Chow are not in good terms as both were trying to take the spot of performing the theme song for 'The Virtuous Queen of Han'.

It had been previously announced that the drama production will use Raymond Lam's song entitled 'Behind the Glory', but later they have decided to change it and used 'With You, Our Love is Perfect' which is a collaboration between Niki Chow herself and Richie Jen.

The decision was said to have been brought about by Niki Chow's popularity and also that of the issue regarding Raymond Lam leaving TVB.

According to gossip reports, Raymond Lam had been disappointed about the decision and had then threatened the production team that he will not attend all promotional activities.
