Promoting the "Olympic Spirit", Mr. Chen was able to traverse those long miles travelling across Asia to reach Europe and was able to secure a role in the London 2012 opening ceremony.

Uncontented with his previous achievement of journeying thousands of miles across continents, traversing one global trek to one Olympic venue, he then contemplated that it was never enough and decided to do it again this time pedalling his rickshaw to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil for the 2016 Olympics.

Fortunately using tickets donated by an airline, he arrived in London last July 2013 and By August of the same year set off on the first leg of a trip which will be at least 5,800 miles (9,350 km).

His immediate mission and goal was to pedal to Liverpool, where his friends secured free carriage of the rickshaw to Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada, ready for the 58-year-old Chinese peddler's journey to the south.

With the rickshaw already on its way to Canada, Mr Beeston, an Insurance broker who met the Olympic farmer last year and help him plan his courageous journey had to find a way for his friend to pay a visit to a comrade who has just passed away. Luckily for the both of them, eventually an airline offered an "affordable" flight from Heathrow on Saturday, August 24, 2013.

Mr Chen will then continue the next leg of his Olympian journey, with Mr Beeston tracking his progress. The Chinese farmer also plans to criss-cross America as part of his campaign in promoting Olympics and world peace. He does not stop and he never ever will.
