Nine years after it was again discovered in July 2007, the eerie "Sealand Skull" that might belong to an extraterrestrial alien (or that might be a clever hoax) still hasn't been thoroughly explained  by scientists for some strange reason.

The Sealand Skull is unlike anything else on Earth. It may well be, since alien advocates are convinced it's all that's left of a dead alien that landed on our planet between 1200 AD and 1280 AD, about the time of King John of England and Robin Hood. It was found in a village on the island of Sealand in Denmark.

The skull, which is remarkably preserved, is astonishing. What instantly stands out are the huge orbits or sockets of its eyes, which are far larger than homo sapiens. Also intriguing is the size of the skull: it's one and a half times larger than that of a human male. No other bones or bone fragments of this creature were found.

The only analysis of the skull conducted soon after its discovery argues the smooth skull surface reveals this creature was adapted to cold climate. The creature's large eyes seem to indicate it was either a night creature or might have lived underground.

Alien advocates, however, claim the large eyes might also mean this alien lived on a planet orbiting a dim star, probably an orange or red dwarf.

"Although resembling a mammal, certain features make it impossible to fit the animal into Linnaean taxonomy," said scientists at the Veterinary School in Copenhagen who examined the skull. They were also said to have been unable to link the skull to any known species on Earth.

It was claimed carbon dating of the skull at the University of Copenhagen's Niels Bohr Institute determined it was some 800 years old.

There are those who claim the Sealand Skull originated from the Balkans. From there, it somehow made its way to Paris, France and Munich, Germany before arriving in Denmark.

Alien advocates theorize the Sealand Skull is that of an alien that lived on an exoplanet orbiting the star 51 Pegasi in the Pegasus constellation.

Still others contend the Sealand Skull was in the keeping of a mysterious and defunct secret society named "l'Ordre Lux Pégasos" (The Order of Pegasus' Light). This group is said to have safeguarded various items, among which was the Sealand Skull and several devices made of an extraordinarily light but unbreakable metal found with the skull.
