Anthony Wong has apparently passed the peak of his motion picture career and admitted that at his age, he is seeing fewer movie roles landing on his lap.

This, however, has not deterred Wong from acting. In fact, he is now busy acting on stage. Alongside veteran actress Candice Yu, Anthony is performing in the Shakespeare comedy "Midsummer Night's Dream" set to hit Hong Kong on September 30.

Anthony's stint on stage began in 2003 when he set up a theatrical troupe. "I hope to transform Hong Kong's stage plays into Broadway performances. Everyone will want to come see Hong Kong stage plays," he explained, Jayne Stars reported.

Candice shares the same vision with Anthony. "The more people who participate in theatrical productions the better. I look forward to fostering more new talents," she said.

Anthony is hailed as one of Hong Kong's premier actors, but his skills have not been enough to prevent his movie career from heading for a nosedive. In fact, he has not been offered a movie role since 2013. But the 54-year-old actor remains positive.  This does not mean that he has not had some bad days. He has, and has also had "mood swings and anxiety," too, Anthony admitted.

"But I sought out my friends to socialize," he explained in an interview with Hong Kong Online.  He eventually learned how to "value and improve" himself and realized that he "can continue down my path with fortitude."

"A lot of people will run the other way when they see me, but I accept that this is human nature," he said.  Anthony said that he does not "resent anyone" and is thankful to the people who "support me and have not left me."

Anthony is known in the industry for his frank opinionated statements, which has caused some disputes between him and other actors in the past.

Whether or not his frankness cost him his movie career, Anthony does not care. He had vowed "not say anything anymore," but instead "focus on perfecting my art. I'm actually very gutless and don't say things out of bravery!" he said.

Candice, however, laughed at the remarks of his upfront behavior and instead said: "He is straightforward, not outspoken!" In fact, the actress said that she feels comfortable working with Anthony.

"I feel very happy being able to collaborate with Anthony," she said.
