The new SJCAM M20 may not be capable of shooting true 4K videos, but the device has become one of the most sought after alternatives among people who want to have a full action camera experience without the need to pay too much.

SJCAM is a relatively new player in the action camera market which is currently diluted due to the massive amount of products available. However, SJCAM, starting with its SJ400 model, has made waves in the market with its decent set of specs and irresistible price point.

One of the most striking features of the SJCAM M40 is its unique design, which for some might be a bit unorthodox. However, this has turned out to be one of the camera's best asset. Weighing at 55 grams, the SJCAM M20 is the company's lightest camera yet. It lightweight build makes the M40 an ideal camera to be mounted on drones, as its weight will not put too much stress on the drone's motors.

The SJCAM M20 is significantly cheaper compared to the GoPro Hero Session, despite the fact that the two share almost identical specs. The M20 has a regular retail price of $116.99. However, some promotions have slashed the camera's price down to only $86.99, according to Giz China.

According to PC Advisor, although the SJCAM M20 is being marketed as a 4K action camera, it is not capable of shooting true 4K video. While the action camera has a 16-megapixel Sony IMX206 sensor, it is the Novatek NTK96660 chipset that bottlenecks the capability of the device.
