Pakistan has issued a ban on the sale of Xiaomi smartphones in the country.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has asked XiaomiPK.com, an unofficial Xiaomi website, to immediately stop selling Xiaomi products in Pakistan.
The website posted a message confirming that the sales of Mi mobile devices in the country is being halted until the matter is settled.

"Unfortunately, we are halting sales of Mi smartphones until this get settled in the mean time we will try our best to get smart phones in your hands as soon as possible, We will continue to provide you Mi accessories with best rates and services," XiaomiPK wrote.
The Pakistani e-commerce platform also accused its competitors of attempting to grab the market through 'influence' instead of competing with quality and service. "If they (PTA) have any legitimate concern we are ready to address it but so far we haven't got any rational reason," XiaomiPK stated.
PTA recently refused to offer a 'No Objection Certificate' to XiaomiPK on the ground that it is not a registered office in Pakistan. Media reports also confirmed that XiaomiPK is not an official e-commerce platform of Chinese smartphone maker.
Xiaomi and Chinese e-commerce platform CheezMall recently signed a deal to sell Mi products in Pakistan. CheezMall, which entered Pakistan last year, has grabbed a significant portion of the online retail market in the country.
