The Chinese women's football team for the Rio Olympics suffered its first defeat even before the Olympics has officially started, losing 3-0 against the more dominant and more experienced Brazilian team.
The Chinese team showed some good abilities but these were not enough against the host team, which includes five-time World Player of theYear Marta Vieira da Silva.

The first goal for Brazil came in the 33rd minute, when Chinese goalkeeper Zhao Lina missed Marta's freekick, and Brazilian defender Monica broke the deadlock through a header in chaos.
Marta did not score in the game but contributed two assists for Brazil, helping Andressa Alves score for the host in the 59th minute.
Brazil and China met on Wednesday in their first Group E game at the Rio Olympics women's football tournament held at the Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
"Our players showed some good abilities but when you have such a difference of experience, you have to pay to learn this and tonight we paid a lot," said Bruno Bini, team China's head coach, in an interview with Xinhua news agency.
Even the Brazilian women's football star Marta admitted that China is a very difficult team to play against. She said scoring three times against a team like China was very tought considering that the Chinese team employed a lot of pressure.
It is not the end of the line for team China though because the Chinese women's football team still has second and third games.
"Our aim is always to qualify from the group and if we did not have the confidence then we would not stay here. So don't worry, we will do our best in the second and third games," he added.
Earlier, Canada shocked Australia with a 2-0 victory at Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo while Sweden beat South Africa 1-0, thanks to a second-half strike from Nilla Fischer.
