China's elite weightlifter Long Qingquan finished an outstanding Olympic gold double when he claimed the men's 56kg event at the ongoing Rio Games on Sunday.
The 2008 Summer Olympic gold medalist produced a spectacular display to get the better of the reigning titleholder Om Yun Chaol of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

According to Xinhua, the 25-year-old native of Longshan drew first blood during the snatch by surpassing Om's leading 134kg with a hoist of 137kg. Long has equalled the Olympic record set by the professional weightlifter Halil Mutlu of Turkey 16 years ago at Sydney 2000.
However, Om managed to break his own clean and jerk Olympic record of 168kg after successfully lifting a load of 169kg.
Long was not intimidated with Om's showcasing of his strength and loaded the bar with 170kg for the final lift of the night to break the three-time world champion's two-minute-old Olympic record and secure his second gold medal in the event.
"I dedicated this gold medal to my second child who isn't born yet," Long told reporters.
The Chinese weightlifter has experienced ups and downs after winning his first gold medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympics and failed to qualify for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
"I am really happy. I am really proud. I came to this competition with two dreams: to win the competition and break the world record and I did both," said Long, who was just a 17-year-old youngster when he won in Beijing eight years ago. "I was still a boy eight years ago. Now I' m a father. I hope my children will be proud of their father when they know my life."
According to Inside the Game, Sinphet Kruaithhong of Thailand settled for the bronze medal after a snatch of 132kg and a clean-and-jerk of 157kg gave him a total of 289, 11 more than the fourth-placed Arli Chontey of Kazakhstan.
