Henan Shedian Laojiu Sweeps Guangxi Weizhuang Rhinos in the Quarterfinal Round of Chinese NBL

The third-ranked team Henan Shedian Laojiu progressed to the semifinal stage of the Chinese National Basketball League (NBL) after completing a 3-0 sweep over Guangxi Weizhuang Rhinos with an impressive 120-105 triumph in their best-of-five quarterfinal round series on Sunday.

According to Asia-Basket, former University of Memphis Tigers player Darius Washington led the winning team with an impressive performance of game-high 42 points along with seven boards and two dimes. Washington got some help from fellow foreign basketball reinforcement Eric Buckner, who registered a double-double game production of 19 markers and 18 rebounds and four assists.

Henan's local players Yuxing Yang finished the quarterfinal match with 24 points while Xiaohu Li added 14 points. Qingfei Min and Hang Wang chipped in a combined 13 points for the Weigang Li-headed team, who capped the regular season with a 19-7 win-loss record.

According to NowGoal, Henan entered the third period carrying a slim three-point advantage 55-52. The game remained close, but the winning team managed to secure a five-point lead 88-83 after a 33-31 charge in the third frame.

In the final twelve minutes of the match, Henan made a 32-22 fourth quarter outburst to extend their lead to 15-point advantage 120-105 and secure the third victory of the series.

China's Yonggang Zhao paced Guangxi with a team-high 28 points Dingjie Wang had 27 markers. Lei Ji and Jing Wang contributed 21 points and 10 points respectively for the losing side.

Meanwhile, in the other quarterfinal match, Luoyang Zhonghe kept their semifinals hope alive after edging a narrow one-point lead 118-117 victory to make their series 2-1.

American imports Joe Jackson and Josh Powell scored a combined 69 points with Powell pulling down a game-high 19 boards to lead Luoyang to the victory.
