China will unveil the world's fastest high-speed train with a maximum speed of 380 km per hour next month.
The train will run on the Zhengzhou-Xuzhou high-speed track, according to People's Daily Online. After launching, the travel time between Zhengzhou in Central China's Henan province and Xuzhou in East China's Jiangsu province will be cut to nearly half (from the usual two hours and 33 minutes to only 80 minutes).

The world's fastest high-speed train has a continuous operating speed of 350kph, around seven times faster than the previous generation of bullet trains. Furthermore, its peak speed reached up to 400kph during testing.
This new generation train will be mainly used to cater passengers in China. China has already built about 16,000 km of high-speed train tracks, connecting major cities like Beijing and Shanghai.
Last month, the country announced its plan to expand its railway network system by constructing an added 30,000 km of train tracks by the end of 2020, yielding a total of about 150,000 km. Of these, 11,000 km will be allocated for high-speed trains.
"We will accelerate the construction of railways in central and western parts of China. We will also boost the expansion of intercity and suburban rail links," Zhang Dawei, deputy head of the Ministry of Transport's planning department, said. He further revealed that more than 80 percent of the cities in China that have a population of at least one million would have high-speed railways by 2020.
