Khloe Kardashian has broken up with beau French Montana who was reportedly becoming very "needy", according to Us Weekly.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star has reportedly taken a step back and is claiming her space from the 29-year-old rapper.

An insider for the magazine claimed that the couple is now "on a break" and that their relationship has gotten "too heavy" with the youngest Kardashian sister wanting "to take a step back."

"She just wants time apart from him," the source said.

The Moroccan-born artist was reportedly becoming "needy" and has not responded well to the split. Montana, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch, had reportedly been attempting to save the relationship. However, a source told E! News that "they will be totally broken up."

"For all intents and purposes, Khloé is single again," the insider stated.

"Khloé thinks he's a great guy, but it just wasn't working out," a second source told E!

There have been speculations that Montana had been trying to boost his career by sticking to the reality TV star, although the E!'s source mentioned that Kardashian had not been troubled by it. Rumors have also surfaced that some Kardashian clan members, including sister Kim and mom Kris, did not approve of the Khloe-French tandem.

In an interview with Billboard magazine last August, Montana admitted that he was taking advantage of the relationship.

"I want to capitalize on it," the rapper told the mag. "I'll get a fan base from everywhere. I just hope I'll be able to connect with everything that's going on."

As a response, Kardashian clarified to her fans that she was not troubled by her then-boyfriend's statement. "It's amusing to me that Y'all think I don't see it," she said on Twitter on that same weekend. "I was the first one to see it. I just don't care."

Kardashian, who is in the process of divorcing from estranged basketball player husband Lamar Odom, had been cozying up to Montana for the past eight months. The pair was said to have met through rapper/entrepreneur Sean "P. Diddy" Combs.

Montana was spotted actively involving himself in Kardashian's birthday celebrations when the "KUWTK" star turned 30. The couple has made several appearances together, such as in the rapper's "Don't Panic" music video.

Montana was also featured in "KUWTK" and filmed for the spinoff "Kourtney and Khloe Take The Hamptons", which has been slotted for a November premiere.
