Injured Shanghai SIPG players Hulk and Dario Conca are reportedly set to join the Chinese Super League squad in time for their AFC Champions League quarterfinals matchup against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors next week.

The 30-year-old Brazilian winger has not suited up for the Red Eagles since he suffered a leg injury during his SIPG debut against Henan Jianye on July 10.

Hulk scored the opening goal in the ninth minute at that time en route to a 5-0 win for head coach Sven-Göran Eriksson's side, but he was stretched off the pitch at the 21st after he sprawled on the grass. The Brazil international said to have pulled a leg muscle.

It was the only time so far that Hulk was featured on the pitch this season since he was acquired on a Chinese transfer record-breaking £48 million deal from Russian club Zenit Saint Petersburg in June.

Meanwhile, Argentine midfielder Dario Conca is also currently recovering from a leg injury and was last fielded in during a game versus Liaoning Whowin late last month. He was sent in as a substitute after over an hour into the match, but was replaced again after hurting his leg again.

Eriksson recently said that both players will be ready for the team's AFC Champions League match against South Korean club Jeonbuk on August 23 or even as early as Saturday's games against Yanbian Funde.

However, as it turned out, both players were still unavailable in their 1-1 draw with the newly-promoted squad.

"Both Dario Conca and Hulk are trying very hard to recover from their injuries," the coach said earlier in the week, as reported by ESPN. "They will definitely make it for the Asian Champions League knockout stage and they could even join the Chinese Super League game on Aug. 13. Everything now is going in a positive direction."

SIPG advanced in the quarters of the premier Asian continental tournament after beating FC Tokyo, 1-0, on May 24 in their Round-of-16 clash at their home field of Shanghai Stadium, as per Channel News Asia.

The Red Eagles won their series 2-2 on aggregate on away goals.
