The Emporis' latest compilation consists of 10 tallest skyscrapers under construction with seven of China's buildings included.
Skyscrapers in Korea, New York, and Kingdom Tower in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia - the most greatly expected - are also among the top 10.
The Kingdom Tower, designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill LLP, is anticipated to surpass the 1,000-meter mark in 2018, way taller than of the world's tallest building now, the 828-meter Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
The next four spots on the list are occupied by China. The 660-meter Ping An international Finance Center skyscraper in Shenzen, China, the 636-meter Wuhan Greenland Center Building, the 632-meter Shanghai Tower and the 597-meter Goldin Finance 117 Building in Tianjin, China.
The Sky City in Changsha, the Chinese skyscraper project, is another project that has recently dominated media reports.
The Sky City is expected to rise 838 meters, taller than Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the world's tallest building, which was created in roughly six years.
The developer of the Sky City Tower, Broad Sustainable Building, was also responsible for the construction of the 30-storey skyscraper in Changsha completed in just 15 days using prefabricated units. They are planning to utilize the same technique in building the Sky City in just 3 months following approximately 10 months of on-site foundation and prefabrication work, making it the quickest-built skyscraper in the world.
With this notes, Emporis predicted that in the years to come, skyscrapers in the U.S. will no longer be included in the list.
But since the usage of prefabricated units are becoming increasingly famous, construction companies should greatly consider the safety and stability of skyscrapers built using this materials. They shouldn't mind much of the time put in the construction but instead, the qualities of the skyscrapers especially when it comes to facing natural calamities like earthquakes and flood.
