Xiaomi Mi5 and Xiaomi Mi5 Pro Smartphones Receive Permanent $30 Price cut in China

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced that its latest devices - the Xiaomi Mi5 series flagship smartphones - have received a permanent 200 Yuan (approximately $30) price cut in China. The cut-down price applies to all the three models of the device, which includes the Xiaomi Mi5 Pro smartphone.

The Xiaomi Mi5 series smartphone was initially launched in China with a high price tag due to its premium build. Six months after the device was revealed, the company has decided to officially cut down the price of its flagship models by $30.
The Xiaomi Mi5 Standard Edition with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM now retails at 1799 Yuan (approximately $272). The Xiaomi Mi5 high version with 3GB RAM + 64GB ROM is now available at 2099 Yuan (around $316), and the Xiaomi Mi5 Pro smartphone with 4GB RAM + 128GB ROM is price at 2499 Yuan (approximately $377).
Meanwhile, Xiaomi recently launched the Mi Note smartphone in China. The device was listed on JD.com carrying a 1099 Yuan (around $165) price tag. It features a 5.7-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Sharp/JDI display screen along with a third generation 3D curved Gorilla Glass protection.
The Xiaomi Mi Note is powered by a Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at a speed of 2.5GHz, paired with Adreno 330 GPU. It comes equipped with 3GB LPDDR3 RAM onboard and a lithium-ion 3000mAh capacity battery that supports Quick Charge 2.0 technology.
The Xiaomi Mi Note sports a 13-megapixel Sony camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and f/2.0 aperture support. It has a 4-megapixel front facing camera with large 2-micron pixels. The device also supports Dual 4G SIM (micro/nano), Dual Standby, and a Hi-Fi audio system.
