4 Chinese Actors to Feature in Fourth Installment of Transformers Movie

Michael Bay's Hollywood blockbuster film Transformers will feature four Chinese actors in the fourth installment of the movie that were casted through a reality TV show. The blockbuster Hollywood movie, fourth in Transformers series, is likely to be released worldwide next year.

Casting process for the Transformers 4 movie was started through a reality TV show in April this year and the Hollywood studio Paramount has selected four young Chinese actors, Byron Li, Austin Lin, Candice Zhao, Teresa Dale to play supporting roles in the film.

The reality show 'Transformers 4 Chinese Actor Talent Search will be telecasted on CCTV's Movie Channel on August 31. It will feature 12 participants who had passed initial two selection rounds and they will demonstrate their acting skills on this reality show.

These 12 actors were shortlisted by Paramount from around 70,000 professional and amateur actors who had applied for the contest by submitting their audition videos. The actors had demonstrated their talents in short dramas and other challenges thrown by the judges while demonstrating their individual skills on this reality show.

The reality TV show will feature judges from both the Chinese and American film producing industry including Lorenzo Di Bonaventura, who is considered as one of the masterminds behind the Transformers movie franchise.

However, these four actors are not the only Chinese actors who will roles in the film as two established actors, Li Bingbing and Han Geng are also playing supporting roles in the movie.

The Paramount studio has signed a production agreement with Chinese government backed Movie Channel this year and had launched the reality TV show to recruit actors from China to play roles in the film.
