Several K-Pop artists have been edited out of another Chinese television series amid mounting tensions between China and South Korea.

"The Remix," a dance survival program which airs on Jiangsu TV in China, blurred or cut out the appearances of Korean celebrities iKON, MONSTA X, and "Gangnam Style" hitmaker Psy on Sunday as part of China's attempt to ban the broadcast of Korean stars in the country, according to AllKPop.

While iKON and MONSTA X are contestants on the show, Psy is on the competition's judging panel. The musician was also removed from the official website of "The Remix."

A fan of iKON who was in attendance during the show's recording also confirmed that iKON sang a song during the shoot but she "did not see them at all in the broadcast," according to Global Times.

Earlier this month, reports poured in about the Chinese government's decision to impose a ban on imports from the Korean entertainment industry, which goes into effect on Sept. 1.

It was also reported that K-pop concerts and Korean dramas will be cancelled and South Korean stars will be banned from talk shows. However, there has been no official confirmation from Chinese authorities.

The restriction is apparently a result of South Korea's deployment of the US' Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile defense system, which has strained ties between China and South Korea.

Last month, China's foreign ministry issued a statement saying that China is "strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposes" THAAD's deployment in South Korea.
