It was a perfect plan prepared by two Chinese men to clear off their gambling debts by abducting a girl and extorting money from the family of the victim. But all their dreams crashed after they came to know that the girl belonged to a poor family and they even gave 500 yuan (18 US dollars) to the girl before releasing her.

The two kidnappers identified as Lu and Xie of Fujian province of China had planned to abduct someone to pay off their gambling debts and on March 9, they kidnapped an 11-year-old from Taizhou in Zhejiang province who was walking alone on the streets.
The duo, reportedly, spent around 10,000 yuan (1,633 US dollars) for transportation, accommodation and other tools including masks for the kidnapping and they had planned to demand 1 million yuan (1, 63,353 US dollars) in ransom from the victim's family.
However, when they called the girl's family to demand ransom from them, they came to know that she belongs to poor family and they decided to let her go but not without giving her 500 yuan.
As per reports, the duo took good care of the girl and she was in good condition when police authorities recovered her. Police authorities, later, arrested the accused from their hometown and they have been sentenced to four and five years jail term for their crime by the Jiaojiang District People's court.
