Six weeks pregnant and suffering from severe morning sickness, the Duchess of Cambridge was forced to cancel her appearance at the opening ceremony of London's Invictus Games.
A Kensington Palace statement says: "The Duchess of Cambridge will not attend the Opening Ceremony of the Invictus Games this evening or the Athletics event tomorrow."

The 32-year-old duchess, whose second pregnancy was announced early this week, was very eager to support her brother-in-law, Prince Harry.
However, her doctors at Kensington Palace advised against it as she is not yet well enough to get back to work.
Her staff also shelved the plans for her trip to the solemn Drumhead service at Lee Valley Athletics Centre together with Prince William and Prince Harry tomorrow.
The Drumhead service is held to commemorate the valor of those who have died or been injured in conflict.
Even the Duchess' first solo foreign visit, to Malta to represent the Queen next weekend, might even be cancelled if her condition remains poor.
"The Duchess's attendance on the forthcoming visit to Malta will be kept under review and a decision taken closer to the time," the statement said.
The Duchess of Cambridge also suffered the same condition during her first pregnancy.
She gave birth to Prince George July last year.
A Palace source told Mail Online that if "she continues to be as sick as she has been in recent days then all bets are off as regards her royal duties."
The Duchess' condition is called hyperemesis gravidarum, which usually inflicts those who are in the early stages of their pregnancy.
Meanwhile, other members of the British Royal Family, including Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince William joined Prince Harry in welcoming delegates to the Paralympics-style tournaments dedicated in honor of those wounded in battle.
