Detroit man arraigned in wife's slaying, 2 kids still missing

Mitch de Leon   | Aug 27, 2014 11:33 PM EDT

The suspect arrested for the death of his wife was arraigned Wednesday morning after his extradition from Georgia, where he had been detained since his capture in June. In addition to charging the Detroit man with first-degree murder, he was also charged with felon in possession of a firearm and felony firearm in connection with his wife’s homicide, a spokesperson from the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office disclosed. His next court appearance is scheduled for 1;30 p.m. on September 4, which will be a preliminary examination conducted before Judge Ruth Carter. Erin Justice, 28, is the primary suspect for the homicide case involving the death of his wife, Alicia Fox. Reports reveal that the victim was found in an uninhabited house on June 9 in Penrod. Fox was said to have been fatally shot by the suspect. Moreover, the victim’s two children have remained missing. Reports show that the children, six-year-old Kaylah Hunter and eight-month-old Kristian Justice, were disappeared at the time of the incident. As of the announcement made by Detroit Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Woody on Tuesday evening, investigators still have “no update to report at this time”. With this declaration, Woody sought the public’s cooperation regarding any information that may help authorities solve the case, especially with the children’s tender ages. “We’d really like to find the kids,” Woody stated. Justice was captured in Georgia and detained in Fulton County Jail upon the discovery of the murder of Fox. He has since then been considered the primary suspect in the death of his wife, who was deemed fatally shot at their Ardmore house. The purported timeline for the murder was set sometime between May 25 and May 27. In addition, court documents show that a man named Timothy Jones has been accused to have assisted Justice after the death of Fox. Jones, 28, has been charged with acting as an accessory after the fact, concealing the death of an individual, and tampering with evidence. Court records displayed online revealed that no lawyer has been listed to assist Justice in this case. read more
